Dr. Coe studies molecular biology and functional characteristics of renal glycoproteins that inhibit crystal growth, and clinical aspects of nephrolithiasis. Main methods: PCR, Cloning, DNA sequencing, Northern analysis, HPLC/FPLC, monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies, cell cultures, ELISA, affinity chromatography, 1 and 2D polyacrylamide gels, protein blotting, protein-crystal adsorption, constant composition crystal growth crystal nucleation and aggregation, CRC studies. He has a long standing collaboration with Dr. Favus concerning hormonal influences on the kidney.
